Bird dog?

It happened during a late-November pheasant hunting trip to Winner, SD with some other Denver Pheasants Forever folks. One of the guys who hunts with a small wirehair pointer had never seen my 4 yr old pointing lab Parker before. When Parker jumped out of the truck, my friend exclaimed "that's not a bird-dog, that's a bird-horse!". The nickname stuck and Parker the bird-horse retrieved a bunch of pheasants up there.

Haha! Love it!

My big blue boy, Dakota, weighs in at about 80 lbs during pheasant season. I have heard on more than one occasion "That is the biggest bird dog I have ever seen!"

We were running the dogs at Coot Lake in Boulder, (before Boulder went completely crazy) and two people asked me if Dakota was a miniature Great Dane. ;-)

The gun is a Browning Cynergy Composite Feather, 12GA--since sold.
