Binoculars?

I know this isn’t pheasant gear, but, I’m retiring December 1st and would like to update. I’ve had Nikons, Pentax, Leupolds, and currently a Cabelas’s 10x42.

What would be your recommendation.

My buddy’s had Swarovskis ELs for 30 years, but got them given to him. They’re fantastic, but I don’t see anybody gifting me a set.

What do you have and how do you like them?
 
Swarovski if you can afford them. I looked thru a Leica model when they first came out, and that might even be better glass than the Swaros. For a bit less money, the Meopta brand has great glass. I have one of their MeoStar R1 EURO 3-9 scopes and a MeoStar 10x42 HD bino's.
 
I have Leica 10x40 that I use when I am really serious about whatever I am hunting. Great glass and built like a tank. I have a really old pair of Leupold 7x30 that I use when I am deer or turkey hunting in thicker cover. Pretty light weight and the first pair of binocs I ever bought. Still like them. I have a cheap pair of Vortex 10x40 that a friend gave me and I keep them in my truck. Good enough for scouting.

I bought my son a pair of Nikon 10x40's. Cost under $1000 and I think they are nice for the price and they are light weight, which is nice on long hikes. My nephews all use Leupold. If you're going out west to hunt and glassing a lot, then get the absolute best you can afford.
 
I like my vortex vipers, I heard the next step up razors are great and around a grand. I would go to cabelas and take a bunch in your price range out in the parking lot and look at license plates that are a hundred yards away. Everybody’s eyes are different, get what fits you and the size you want. Happy retirement!
