Greetings from Montana. I've been reading this sight for awhile and decided to jump into the fray.....needing some kind of vicarious fix to feed my addiction now that pheasant season is over in MT.
 
Big Sky, welcome!! Prior to traveling to N.D. & S.D. the last 9 years I hunted Montana for 13 years. Mostly east of Conrad and then had a cabin on the Milk River between Malta and Glasgow for several years, then the drought hit.

Montana has a long upland bird season. We can start hunting Huns and grouse at the beginning of September. Pheasants open mid October and goes through Jan. 1. I would be tempted to take a trip to Kansas but I saw on the Kansas fish and game websight that they require completion of a hunter safety course before one can purchase a license. I've not taken a course here as it was not a requirement when I started hunting 25 years ago.
