Any thoughts on the Baikal shotgun? Anyone own one? Reviews say they are built well, but are not aesthetically pleasing. I saw one in a pawn shop today, sold by Remington, built by Baikal in Russia. Looked pretty good. Felt as good as the Ruger Red Label next to it for $800 less.
I came home and looked at gun broker, I can buy a new one for less then the pawn shop wanted, somewhere around $450. I am thinking about "getting one for wife to use when we shoot trap". (She saw right through that one!!)

I think you can do better. Had fit and finish issues, barrel regulation issues, ejector issues, just to name what I'm aware of personally. if you get a good one, they are sturdy and reliable, difficulty is in telling which one is the good one. My own test with a Spartan 310 was that they handle and aim like a 2x4. I won mine at a raffle, I no longer own it.

At one time I had a 28,20, 16 and 12 ga Bakial. Never had a issue with any of them. Just not a looker. I don't have any of them anymore. They were good stepping stone guns, when money was tight and I had kids growing up still in school.

These days folks are talking about Yildiz Shotguns as being a great entry level priced SxS and O/U. I haven't ever had one or shot them. Just something else to think about for a option.
