Hello all. I'm a long time active contributor on www.iowasportsman.com and was just today referred to your site. I hope to read from and occasionally contribute to your forums.

As for me, I live in central Iowa and pheasant hunt most of the state. Numbers are down this year, but pockets of birds can be found. It helps that I'm afield at least three days per week. My wife and children are accepting of my passion to say the least, and I appreciate that very much.

I've attached a handful of 2010-11 season pics for your preview. My buddy within is "Gunner", my two year old vizsla.

BTW
I have a friend from KS that has two vizslas!
they are great little dogs. I'm originally from SD and we usually end up hunting at least 5 days in pheasant mecca!

Welcome to the site. I hope you enjoy it. It looks like I'm gonna be spending more time this year in Southern Iowa so if you ever get down this way and want someone to go with, let me know.

Good thing I looked at the last picture I thought you had superhuman pheasant hunting skills:D Why only one on last picture were you hunting SD:D Welcome to UPH. Thanks for sharing the:coolpics:

Thanks for the welcoming. No super human hunting skills here, just a good dog and the willingness to walk more than most. Oh, and a very understanding family. Did I already mention that? :)

We should connect. I know Indianola well; I went to school at Simpson and was just there two weekends ago for a speaking engagement. I'm only 30 minutes from you, give or take.

From one rookie to another . . . welcome! Great-looking Viz, and nice bags of Roosters. Now I know where the movie line came from: "Is this Heaven?"

"No, it's Iowa." Thanks for sharing (even if I do have to clean drool off the keyboard now . . . ).
