Anyone heading Sage Grouse Hunting

We have been getting a few down my way. Where you located Steve?

Located in the Hellscape that is legally known as Denver, Colorado. Headed to the golden triangle this weekend. Where have you been finding em?

I'm about an hour west of Farson. I have been finding them on the leeward side of the sage draws and the little grass meadows along the tops of the drainages as long as there is water in the drainage.

How did you all fare out on your sage chicken hunts?

Hunted all day Saturday and picked up one. Didn’t see more than that but what can you expect for one guy without a dog.

We hunted 2 areas, we started around Sarasota and then headed farther west. Opening day my daughter in law got a bomber pointed by my Weim Tessa. We got a couple more and then moved west and got our limit.

Good Grouse numbers here? Id assume all the Bozos from BozeAngeles would have overrun anything near county 6. Trying to get on some Pheasants with a friend from Livingston but happy to chase some Sharpies as well. Trying to minimize the inevitable driving.
