Im looking for my first actual bird dog. I have been hunting pheasants with a 15" beagle (who does great actually) but he has his limitations. Especially in the wide open fields where he just cant cover enough ground. I would like to purchase within the state if possible.

Mainly looking for a brittany but would also consider other pointing breeds. I live on 4 acres (2 acre yard) and surrounded by thousands of acres of farm land that I have permission to run. Also have access to private stocked birds on a regular basis.

Sounds like that little beagle has done a good job for you!

You have a real nice setup there to train a bird dog. I am mostly involved with Springers these days but I'll keep my ears open.

If you are looking for a Britany check out one of the club's in PA.

Here is one I found after a quick search

Most club's have a breeder referral that will help you in your search. That is how I got connected with the breeder I'm getting my next vizsla from. The different clubs are a good place to start since they know a lot of breeders. Tell them what you're looking for and they may be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck.

If I were looking for a Britt, I would take a hard look at Quail Hollow kennels in Salem NJ. I have hunted with some of their dogs and they are OUTSTANDING! They are geared to the hunter and NOT field trials. They have been featured in Gun Dog, Sports Afield, and other magazines. Check out their web site. Good luck in your search.

Amy info on their pedigree? Cost? Thanks

I got second pick on a male. The web site needs some tech help but the owner is nice and easy to deal with and knowledgeable about the breed, from what I see he's got some good bloodlines and hunting champs. I'll P/M you with the info.
