Anyone familiar with warn winch's???

I am looking at putting a 9000lb warn with a cradle mount for a 2" receiver hitch on my 97 tahoe, it has both leads for front and back. I was thinking I could also use it on the rear of either of my GMC crew PU's though the one is a 3/4 ton duramax, but I was thinking it should be heavy enough for that too...any one have any experience with this type of mount and how well it works, thanks!

They are the best by reputation. Load capacity is fine with a frame hitch, front and rear. I would caution you that do not hitch around the tow hooks, individually, especially to get a different angle, on the front end it can bend the frame. One issue with winches, I always seem to be out in an area without a secure hitching post, which means you have to dig in a brace or winch to a tree, or fence post, which is off the road, sometimes across a ditch that is worse than where you are!

I am not familiar with the larger ones for trucks but I used to sell a lot of them for ATVs. Customers were always happy and an extremely small percentage had issues.

It will work fine, but you need a block and a strap (Flat). To wrap around trees. The block to double you pulling power. Extra cable, and an anchor if no trees or things to lash to. Also when you pull throw a blanket over the line to slow down a whip if it breaks...

Thanks for the replys, I have used winches before, but not the cradle mount for a 2" receiver, was just curious if they work as well as the bumber mounts.

Most of my pulls were with in 45Dg. of straight pulls. I did reinforce the rec. hitch because of that. Have fun!
