Antique road show

I was forced into it around early 2000's when my workplace went computerized. I remember that I got the curser off the screen and had to go asked someone how to manipulate the mouse around to get it back. Still resisted for a few years, then someone showed me how to get to gunbroker and ebay and I was hooked. I think it's a double-edged sword. As my metabolism slows, I find myself spending way too much time on here. But I do enjoy engaging with people on here. This is the only forum I belong to, probably because guns, dogs, and birds, are the only things I know a little bit about. I bet old Satin was rubbing his hands together when it was invented. But also bet he was disappointed at the amount of good folks working hard to get their word out.

I’m with Murph, early 1990s. Close to same age too, mid 70s. I’ve had the same cell number since 1988, not a bag phone, but a brick phone.
Those brick phones were awesome… Nearly impossible to destroy. I was a contractor back then and we were doing rehab work in some pretty rough areas back then. Used mine to clock a guy trying to get at me through the driver’s side window of my truck. After I went a bit it still worked to call the cops. I would never try that with my IPhone 😂

Immediately after Al Gore invented it (now known as Fake News).

I have been on internet forums for 22 - 25 years or so now.

Much of the pre-internet at work was AS-400. I think AS-400 was the main platform I used at work all through the 90s.

I got trained at work as an early adopter. At the time, all websites were text based and changes were occurring very rapidly.

When I started on the Internet, it was still a wood burning system.

I in the same boat as Brittman, internet came out when I was in Grad School so have been part of since the early days. Had cell phones that look like to old army field radio then bag phone and so.

Sweet, but I don’t shoot Damascus. Oldest gun I shoot is a 1905 Fox. Love the RST 2.5”paper shells for it but they’re always sold out. Picked up some B&P classic upland meantime and they’re ok but they don’t smell like paper. My son shoots a 20g Lefever made in ‘25, it handles like a pool cue. Last couple outings took a 12g Parker made in ‘23. Shooting standard fez loads through both. Still would love to see your Parker! I’ll send a pic of the Fox. You won’t believe it

An old Francotte can be a nice gun. I was weaned on them until I realized I couldn’t shoot a SXS. Then I found an O/U 410 that I use for grouse and dove hunting that works really well for me.
