Another year shot to hell and time for January/February chukar hunting.

Wow, that is a fantastic mount! I love the idea of pheasant quail combo. Can I come see that mount in person next fall in person and bring my gun just in case we are looking for something to do after I see it?

Why does it piss you off? Wild flushes? Low flying? Harder to hit?

I have only shot them at game farms.
They like to live in as steep and rocky country as they can find and would rather run then fly and they only run in one direction, straight up and they don’t stop until they get to the very top of wherever they are. They then fly down…….all the way down, sometimes miles down. You really don’t get any good shooting until you break up a covey into 1’s and 2’s then they start holding for the dog. There are days where I have put on 10 miles and 2 thousand feet of elevation just to satiate my lust to kill them.

I guess lastly they only fly down hill, usually going faster than any other game bird that I have ever hunted. They are a pretty amazing bird to hunt. After every day hunting them, I feel like I’ve run a marathon

That sounds rough! We'll expect daily photos of bag limits. :)
