They like to live in as steep and rocky country as they can find and would rather run then fly and they only run in one direction, straight up and they don’t stop until they get to the very top of wherever they are. They then fly down…….all the way down, sometimes miles down. You really don’t get any good shooting until you break up a covey into 1’s and 2’s then they start holding for the dog. There are days where I have put on 10 miles and 2 thousand feet of elevation just to satiate my lust to kill them. Why does it piss you off? Wild flushes? Low flying? Harder to hit?
I have only shot them at game farms.
That sounds rough! We'll expect daily photos of bag limits. They like to live in as steep and rocky country as they can find and would rather run then fly and they only run in one direction, straight up and they don’t stop until they get to the very top of wherever they are. Chucker hunting is a bitch! Beautiful taxidermyWell, all the easy hunting is behind me for the year and I’m reduced to chasing chukar for the next two months. It’s the only hunting that I do that truly pisses me off. However, it keeps me out of my wife’s hair, so I do it.
