i have seen only 1 other white rooster it was also taken in MN but was all white in color...

my fathers friend also shot 1 of these white roosters his son now has the mount in his home id like to see it 1 day... they same guy shot a rooster with white wings he was hunting public lands but i wonder if there was a game farm near my fathers friends public land spot??? or he was real lucky!!! he kinda was got a MN moose & a 7 yr old trap & transplanted turkey with a band on leg so we new the age of the bird... who knows???

ive seen a white teal B4 wish i could get a chance at a white rooster 1 day

If any of you ever hunt at U-Guide's West River Adventures you will see one mounted in the house you stay at. First time I ever saw one.

I hope he mounted it! I saw, but could not get a shot at a black or dark green pheasant, I think they call it melanistic. Had to be a feather mutant, there was no stocking or releases to account for it, maybe a personal effort is possible. Bigger, stronger, and wilder than it's bracemate.

says at the end of the story he mounted the bird...

i highly doubt that this bird was taken on PUBLIC LAND sadiemae

thats my brothers llewellen setters name good screen name...

I had an opportunity to harvest an all-white rooster on public land in SW MN during the 2011 season, I flushed the bird off my dog's point and by the time I realized that it was a legal bird (it cackled) it presented a 35 yd shot, but I lowered my gun and passed on taking the bird. Last fall about 2 days before the opener my hunting partners were scouting and saw an all-white bird with some normal birds picking gravel alongside public land. Close observation with binoculars suggested that the bird probably was a hen. These WMA's are in the same county, only about six miles apart.

Wow! That is really cool catch! No I think the white would be a recessive gene and in all probably would only show up on occasional birds...remember you bio. classes, like the Chocolate labs, all on how the dice fall....
