Well I purchased one back in May, $2000! Still yet to put my hands on it! Call Browning every other week and supposedly they should have them this month and start shipping them out mid March and I should get mine somewhere between April and September ….. Extremely frustrating pay for something and wait almost a year!
 
Been a Browning man my whole life but after dealing with them on and after a sweet 16 purchase a couple years ago it may be my last purchase from them. Customer service was horrible.
 
Ordered a Sweet 16 ultimate, took weeks longer to get than I was told then when it showed up the rib on the barrel and the rib on the receiver didn't line up. For what I paid I wasn't accepting that so after 2 times back to Browning and numerous run around phone calls it showed back up still noticeably tweaked. I had ordered it through scheels and they actually came to my rescue and took the lemon back and found me another one then they'd deal with Browning. Terribly let down by Brownings customer service and flip it attitude to a quality issue.

I will say that I love the gun now but that whole ordeal left a sour taste for sure.
 
I’m hoping they have one of the new A5 20 gauges at the Browning booth/display at Pheasant Fest this weekend. I’d at least like to see one in person and handle one if at all possible.

I’m a Browning guy, but I don’t understand why they made the big announcement about the new A5 20 gauges last year, yet they’re still not available.

Iv emailed them and asked. They don’t have any real answer! I held one and shouldered it, it feels amazing! If they don’t go shoulder the 16, I think it’s the same frame. My uncle just bought the 16 and Iv shot it, and I’m probably gonna buy one of those too. Good news is I can go and get one off the shelf vs waiting a damn year!
 
I have a new A5 Sweet 16, I bought it the year they first came out. It is my “go to” quail gun, and I’ll carry it at least one day when pheasant hunting in South Dakota. I love that shotgun.

If the new A5 20 gauge ever becomes available, I’d like to get one. I asked my local gun store about getting me one last year, right after the big premier/announcement from Browning. He asked his suppliers, and none of them had one or could tell him anything other than “it’ll be about a year”.

I think I said in another thread on here that getting one of these guns is about like trying to take a clear picture of Bigfoot.

I have a 20 gauge A 5 I bought new at an OKC gun shop over 30 years ago. It is a short barreled A5 that I've never hunted with but I've decided to change that and use it this year. I'm sure the new version is lighter but it is a sweet little shotgun in its own right and I'm not getting any younger.

Exchanging correspondence with Bass Pro regarding the 20 ga. A5: end of march for the 28"...later for the 26".
 
They can't get the parts to make them. I am down for one at one of the biggest and oldest Browning dealer and have been since last spring. Originally they were told they would have them last October, now they don't have a date to expect them. Browning told them that they could not get the parts to make them.

I talked to browning this morning, guy told me they getting 1000 end of the month and then every other month getting 1000, he said they have 5000 pre orders just for the 26in alone! So depending on where I fall it could be next month or October!
 
I've had the same problems with Browning Service in years past that you guys have had and I agree with you. They do make fine guns most of the time but if you have a problem with one, Heaven help you! All that said, I have 2 Belgian Sweet 16's and 2 Belgian light 20's (Cyl and IC chokes, both with ribs) and they are wonderful guns. I expect my grandson will be shooting them 50 years from now! Also have a 12 gauge newer A5 camo for ducks and a newer A5 Sweet 16. I've shot a lot of roosters with the A5 Sweet and if you absolutely have no luck finding a 20, you won't be hurt buying the 16--it's a marvelously light and easy-pointing shotgun.

My uncle has the 16 and I plan on buying one of those also

I shoot them well, but Benelli has been a more reliable gun. I have purchased 8 new Brownings in the last 40 years. Had a new B 80 plus that I bought in the late 80's that I had to send back to Browning twice. They never could get it fixed, but did refund my money. So I bought a new A5 20 that worked flawlessly for many years. My 12 gauge Gold Hunter was the best shooting gun ever, but I had to replace the recoil spring every other year. When the spring got weak, it became a single shot Had 3 new BPS that were flawless, still have one of them. Bought a new Maxus II Wicked Wing about 4 years ago, nice gun but will occassionally not cycle a load. Also have a 1965 A5 20 gauge. I own 3 Benelli's, and they are the most reliable guns I have owned.

I've got the Sweet 16, its a dandy but I don't hunt with it much. I heard the 20's weigh more than the 16's do.
