28 gauge 11-87

I think I'm going to be called Gooch, instead of goose. I have considered, taking my 10-year-old nephew to one of those wine and cheese ranches, where there is a lot of grab ass going on.
We joke, but personally, that is one of the better reasons for going to such a place. Not the grab ass, but getting more bird encounters for a young hunter. As long as they are notified how it differs from hunting wild birds, especially on public land, to set future expectations appropriately, I don't see a problem with it. Heck, with all the genetic watering down it does to the SD birds to have hundreds of thousands of pen birds released and interbreeding with wild fowl, it also allows us MN hunters an easier time with the wild birds when we cross the border, than our pure beasts back home. :ROFLMAO:

My brother only gets one day off per week, maybe two every once in awhile, so I took them up into the Lewistown area, to one of the few private ranches I can still get on, and we saw a few birds, but didn't even get any shots. It was very windy, not the greatest of conditions, in November. I was really hoping to get a bird for him, but it didn't happen.. little 28 gauge at cans a few times, and nailed those cans from 20 yd s!

It's only 6 hours from there to Casper. Just another location to consider. :sneaky:

I am sure he enjoyed that shooting. Good you were able to get him some shooting time, if not at birds.

Yeah he's a small kid, that little even that little 28 gauge didn't was way too big for him, he needs a youth shotgun. But he did shoot the 20 gauge and the 28 gauge and he did hit when he was shooting at, and he didn't completely freak out, so it was a success far as that goes
