Damn, I am so bored.

The weather sucks right now and it is 218 more days until I head to South Dakota pheasant hunting. This will be my 16th trip to South Dakota, my 12 year old sons 1st, and my other 2 boys are also tagging along. (age 9 and 7)

I went in 2009, 2000, and 1995 to 1983.

Our group is mainly relatives, my 75 year old dad (his 17th trip and 1st since 1998) my ex-brother inlaw (his 9th trip, 1st since 1998) and then 6 other South Dakota virgins.

It is going to be a blast, and I'm tired of waiting already!!!

Anyone else getting the itch already? Going to be a long summer.
 
Me too! I'm planning and anxious. 218 days, isn't that toward the end of Nov?:eek:
No way could I wait that long. I'm heading out first chance I get in Sept.:)

Where do you go? Is there a good lodge that's not the most expensive as i want to take my 7 and 9 year old boys and want to make sure they get on birds. I'm thinking of taking the wife too! You know, make it a family affair. if I can get her interested, it'll be a lot easier to spend more cash on hunting!
 
I hear you, it seems like bird season takes for ever to get here.

I have 3 months before the early Prairie Chicken season. It is generally too hot and the amount of walking per bird pointed and shot is not great but it is better than nothing. The dog and I get out with our hunting partner, and get warmed up for the real season, Quail and Pheasants :cheers:
