Anyone have any updates as to how the Youth season went? I am guessing a lot of crops are still in the field but any reports would be nice, just trying to gauge what part of the state we are going to head to in November? We are pretty mobile, we tent camped last year the 2nd week of November at a state park and it was beautiful! Hoping to do something similar this year.

That's not a bad idea because lodging is a total rip-off.

Should be able to stay in a motel that time of year for $100…split 2 ways, not terrible…don’t sit in a restaurant or bar if you can pack most of your meals, then you’re saving $…eat breakfast in the motel on them, typically…I enjoy relaxing in a decent motel at night, watching a game, whatever and enjoying a drink and bs’ng with pals…dog next to me on the couch, such is happening as I type this. A few hundred bucks per trip for lodging is part of the math for me, but if u can camp, and save $, and you enjoy that, go for it.

The older I get,the More. I like motel. Unfortunately, those old school motels are disappearing, and the ones that are still there are expensive. I used to sleep in the back of my pickup, and cook on a propane stove. That saved a lot of money. Then I bought a camper and use that a lot and still do use one occasionally. But I actually do prefer what sitting in a motel and watching a game and having a hot shower etc.

I have to add one more thing to this, sharing a room with another guy isn't all that great. I like to have my own room.

Yes, you live together for several days! Not like a round of golf!
There are a few guys that I hunt with that I don't mind hunting with that. I enjoy hunting with but I don't really want to share a room with them. I do share a room with my nephew occasionally and my cousin every once in awhile. But generally I get my own room. No, it's true, that sharing a room with another Hunter does save a lot of money. I must admit that.

A motel with TV & a shower? Sounds pretty Gucci to me.
