2013 WIHA atlas

duckdog17 i did missunderstand i assumed when u said managed u meant QDMA & leased private land...

i did find out about the purple means F OFF dont ask to hunt in KS this past turkey season guess its orange in MT any posts i seen painted purple were all guides & PAY TO PLAY & i did see many shot up signs 2-4 were purple...

not cool to shoot up sombodys signs no but i was just saying thats many locals mentality out there drive around & blast stuff out the truck & if my spot is posted shoot the sign???

honestly this issue goes on in any state with public lands there is always a border of private & public lands & some dumb dumb is always going to push the envelope & skrew things up for everybody... WIHAs are a great great thing i hope for many many more in the future in Ks & here in MN & SD ND ETC. & every other state that has them

stuff

sure got your attention. as far as studies go, with you it would do no good to post them as you have already said you wouldn't believe them. anyway, the forum is doing a great job, it is getting people to speak up and involved, to it

cheers

Unless I'm mistaken the field where I shot my first pheasant ever is no longer on the map. That's a shame. First year I went to Kansas it had thigh high crp with crops on either side. I've found over 100 pheasant and 5 covey of quail it in 2 days time. Came back the next year and it had an electric wire around it with enough cows to stock McDonalds for 10 years. The entire field had as much grass as my wood floors. I guess I just remember the good times I had and look for the next good field.

yes that would suck big time cowboybirdogs!!!

i love the WIHAs but what i dont like is the fact that they can be there 1 yr & gone the next!!! the WIHA wear i shot my 1st ever rio grande turkey & 1st KS bird ever was also removed the next year & gone to guides that payed a few more bucks to the landowner!!! bummer used to see turkeys on the road as we pulled in every time!!! now gone wont be back any time soon!!!

in my opinion KS & the armys of pheasant hunters that are up set about the WIHA habitat in KS need to push for more state owned lands or WA NTL grasslands ETC lands that will not be removed in a yr or 2 once a guide pays more $$$ to the landowner... they can also control the habitat on state owned lands once groups like PF-QF help buy or establish a WA or wildlife management area they are there forever for us to enjoy thats a major issue i see in KS not much state owned lands 2 hunt on all or most WIHA that can be gone next yr...

SD will have the same issue if there walk in areas ever go south it will become 98% PAY TO PLAY thats a bummer
