2007 season pics

Well, until 2007 my all-time success rate at pheasant hunting was ONE ROOSTER. Things started to come together with finding spots, learning about habitat/behaviour, training the dog and wingshooting. I got 9 roosters in all, and more importantly, I had a wonderful time! I even got a few friends into it, managing to get each of them (husband and wife) their first birds - shot over my dog (which of course gives an extra measure of pride!). Can't wait for 2008! Here are some pics from the season...

OK, so this is a woodcock not a pheasant, but I like the shot so I'm putting it in!

Nice job with the pics. And congrats on your 07 hunts.

Woohoo!

Crockett,

Great pics! Thanks for sharing!

What state were you hunting in???

You're a good man for introducing those folks to our wonderful sport. Keep up the great work.

Best of luck in your future hunting expeditions and congratulations on a good year!

Croc - Love the lab in the PF hat and the rooster in the mouth. Priceless!!!

Thanks for the comments! I live and hunt in Nova Scotia, Canada. We have a 10 weeks season in most counties (Oct 1 - Dec 15), but the three mainly agricultural counties where the best habitat is are only open for 6 weeks (Nov 1 - Dec 15), so I'm jealous when I hear about 3 month seasons in some states!

Nice. Croc, the last shot of you collecting the timberdoodle from your retriever belongs on the cover of Shooting Sportsman, Upland Journal or Gun Dog magazine.

Thanks Crockett, great Pic's

It's those types of photos that keep us going in between seasons.
