20 guage auto?

My suggestion would be the Franchi Affinity. I've got the 12ga camo version as my main duck gun, and my wife has the 20ga. It's her main pheasant gun. When I'm hunting alone, I'll often carry her 20 because it fits me perfectly and I shoot it well. My 12ga fits me perfectly too, but it's 6.8 lbs and the 20 is 6 lbs even. Fiocchi 3" Golden Pheasant 1 & 1/4 oz of 5's through IC choke is deadly. I was hunting alone this weekend and shot a couple of roosters with that combo.

I think the plain black synthetic stock can be had for $900, the camo a bit more. We've had them for 5-6 years now and they've both been very reliable.

At that price I’d be looking at a Beretta A300 Ultima or a Franchi Affinity. Both would come in under your price point. I really like my A300 but a friend has the Franchi and its a pretty nice gun too.

Another vote for a Win SX-4. Bought one for the wife, but I'm shooting it more and more. We tried the Benelli guns, but felt they were too lite, and thumped pretty good with 3" shells. I like wood/blue guns to look at, but the synthetic guns don't show the dings/scratches like wood does. Throw in some rain and/or snow, and I just cant take the pretty guns out.

Regarding chokes, all my guns get Trulock X-tend in various constrictions.
