1969 Remington 870 Wingmaster Magnum

You know, and I just dont get it. Why on God's green earth did they take the best pump gun and cheapify the darn thing. Same with the old mod 7400 and similar rifles. Just dumb LOL I would like to find an old cherry one just to put a slug barrel on. Wish I still had the old one I had, and a nice 1,100 too.

Yes, you are correct. LOL i'd like to bust you on Pump shotguns but I will not. LOL That year 870 is great. FCS is correct the modern ones are crap. rem is crap in this time. I will not buy any Remmington weapon, at this time. But the op has a great gun.

What do you mean"Bust Me"????

Anyone here ever have one rechambered? I have a very nice Wingmaster that only shoots 2 3/4 and has a fixed mod barrel. I can get it rechambered to shoot 3" for $80 at the gun shop. I have a lot of guns that shoot 3" so I don't have to do it I just would love to shoot the 870 more. Almost all the spots I hunt pheasant at are steel shot now days and I won't shoot 2 3/4 steel. I was going to do it then chickened out without researching it because I don't want to screw up a nice gun.

How is re-chambering it to 3" going to make it any better for steel shot? With your Mod. choked barrel you can safely shoot steel shot up to size #2. If I were you, I would get some 2&3/4 inch #3's and try them. I think you will be surprised at how well they work.

Never have but I have the 2 3/4 20ga Wingmaster - 1968.

I have killed more ducks, geese, turkeys, pheasants, grouse and deer with it than I can remember. Every animal I ever killed until I was 34 yrs old was killed with that one gun (except BB gun stuff).

Fantastic gun and never had one jam, miss fire or anything else. Pull the trigger and it shoots, pump and it reloads. Never even thought about rechambering and I personally wouldn't consider it nor want it.
