18 week old springers first hunt

Took my 18 week old pup to a game farm went 5 for 5. He is the first dog i have ever fully trained myself. Really happy with him.
 
Im guessing it was a typo meant to say 18 months old. Nice to do things yourself. Lots of self satisfaction comes from a dog you have trained yourself. Great job!

You must be one helluva trainer if you can have an 18 week old pup nearly fully trained. He may be doing what you want, but in 40 years of having and training hunting dogs I find it impossible to believe. Most trainers would not even start trying to train an 18 week old dog. Maybe some basic obendience but that would be it.
 
Depends on ones definition of "fully huntable". Some would say flush live bird/retrieve dead bird is all that is required.

Myself I would say hunting over a dog that young is irresponsible. To each his own. Be careful and good luck.
