Yesterday was Max' third time at a preserve and gets better every session.
Placed five birds, random, approx. 40 yards apart and he found all. Very dry conditions and no wind. One bird was a long flyer, but eventually landed, about 75 yards out in thick cover. Max followed and found the bird; retrieving is not a problem for this youngster.
He's using his nose more each trip and loves the experience. Will continue to hunt him weekly until Nov. 11Th SD trip. Will try quartering more as the next set of birds will be random...no flags.
