1/2 - 1/4 Hunt

1/2 - Started on a GPA. Saw a lot of birds on this property, would estimate in the 150 number. Our shooting was sub par on the birds that held.
Snow softened up just enough to not be too noisy with the sun, but the ice that was still coating vegetation made it difficult to get around quietly. Once the clouds, fog rolled in mid afternoon it got tough. Hit a couple other spots, moved plenty of birds on those too.
Could have, should have shot our limit early on the 1st GPA.

1/3 - Snow crunched up overnight, made it nearly impossible to get close to anything. Saw a lot of birds again though.

1/4 - See what today brings……I expect more of yesterday…..if we even hunt.

I hear you about the snow…1/2 was tough…hundreds of birds toyed with us. 1/3 was softer snow, smaller covers, fewer birds so they weren’t so skittish…worked out well. 1/4, today, crunchy snow, we got a bird apiece so far…cold, damp wind! Heading back out soon…

We started off good this morning.....2 in the first 30 minutes.....add 2 more misses in the next hour (which were pokes), couldn't get close to anything else the rest of the day except hens....they were holding real tight, but why wouldn't they! Lol!
We quit early, dogs were beat and a cold beer or 3 was calling!!
All we were doing was pushing birds around.
Headed home on the morning.

We’re doing good. Frying walleye now. Birds are bunched, but not all escape…not too tough to get the # were allowed.
