Be very careful outside, the ticks are out in force this year. I have picked off more ticks on myself then any other year that I can remember.
Make sure the pups are treated for them because otherwise they will be loaded with them.
Looking for opinions on a protective vest for my girl. She is a chocolate lab german wirehair cross and will be just over a year old in July.
What has worked for you guys?
I'm just curious what you guys use for quail in a 20 gauge load. When I was shooting my 12 gauge I was using 7.5 shot target loads and they worked great but wasn't sure if the lighter load in 20 would work as well.
I'm just curious about how many birds can be safely shot from a covey before there are risk to totally eliminating that covey.
So if you had a covey of say 15 to 20 birds how many could be taken before you risk totally eliminating that particular covey?
I am fairly new to...
Is it common for a female who lost her first litter to lose them a second time? She is a healthy Chocolate lab who will be 4 years old and lost her first pregnancy last year. I have heard that if they lose their first litter they are more likely to lose the second litter as well.

Anyone own one of these in 20 gauge? I'm seriously thinking about getting one and I'm just curious on others' opinions on it. Reliability and weight ect?? Thanks in advance.
I actually wanted to purchase a used 11-87 in 20 gauge, but they are hard to find and very pricey.
A guy I work with just inherited a remington premiere o/u but knows very little about it. I guess it's probably around 10 to 12 years old and it is probably 80% as far as condition. It also came with the lockable case that is in the pictures. If anyone knows anything about these he would be very...
My son and I and Allie were able to get out one more time last Saturday and what a day it was! We were able to get our 1st ever 2 man limit of bobwhite quail on a near perfect overcast day.Allie had one of her best days of the season and she is an incredible lab who makes it so much more fun.I'm...
My son and I went out in the wind last Friday and limited out. It was 20 to 30mph winds but the birds were grouped up and in the heavy cover. All in all a great day.Bitter cold is predicted all this next week so hopefully it warms back up a bit later.
My son his fiance and myself went south last weekend and found several coveys of quail and a few roosters and seen a bunch of hen pheasants also. We ended up with 10 quail and 3 roosters and had a great time. Allie "the lab" and Sissy "the lab/coon dog mix" did great. And the best part of the...
Anyone use this stuff? I'm thinking about ordering some 6 shot 2 3/4" but I have never used it before. I usually use prairie storm but its getting almost impossible to find.
We went down south last weekend and did some mixed bag hunting and ended the day with 2 roosters and 2 bobwhites. We only seen one good sized covey of quail and were able to get 2 out of it. Last year we were moving as many as 4 to 5 coveys a day hunting public area. Just curious what everyone...
