I always carry plenty of shells(start out with a box). My go to is a 16 gauge and my back up is a 28. All of my friends hunt with 20 gauge guns so there is no sharing of shells…
I hunted a little West of their late season and had a reasonable amount of bird contacts. I will hunt there next season barring any unforeseen circumstances.
I bought a case of the 1 1/8 about a month ago. I was going to use them on a mid January SD pheasant hunt, but got weathered out. I’ll pattern them this summer and most likely bring them to ND for ducks early October.
I had a similar experience in North Central. We threw in the towel and drove South West Yesterday afternoon. Much less snow here…We will see what happens
Can anyone give me a snow report? Any new snow in the last few days? How about snow still on the ground? I am heading out for one last trip mid week to NorthWest/Central and Southwest.
I just pulled out my Grandfather’s Orvis down jacket in Camo from the 70’s I believe. Going to bring it next week to SD to survive the cold snap. That thing is super warm!
I had to send my Filson vest back last year as it was falling apart in many places. After a bit of back and forth, they repaired it very nicely. I agree it’s a bit heavy, but works very well for me.
