Brittman makes some excellent points. There are a lot of dual champion Brittanys. And some field trial dogs don't always make good hunting dogs, and vice versa. That's why you must do your homework before selecting a pup.

I've had my dogs get cut in that area several times. I've never found anything to protect it. Sylmar use to make a front body suit that may have worked but it's not available anymore.
