Are you still located in Rapid City? There is a Weimaraner breeder in SW Nebraska that you might call. I personally know nothing about this breeder, don't even know if tthey are still in business. But you might try giving them a call...

Let’s talk boots (older crowd on here)

Anyone try these boots from Danner? https://www.danner.com/element-8-brown.html Actually the reviews on them don't look that good. :(

    Blackhills Area?

You probably couldn't find a worse place in South Dakota for bird hunting. Unless you want to drive 100+ miles east or north of the Deadwood/Lead area. Also, that time of year in that area you could have a fair amount of snow.

Let’s talk boots (older crowd on here)

They may be great for the younger crowd. But like the Kenetrek's, they tend to be quite stiff. Way too stiff for old feet for upland hunting.

    Which Barrel First For Over/Under

Before O/U shotguns had barrel selectors they always fired the bottom barrel first. Ya think they might have known something??? :)

Let’s talk boots (older crowd on here)

https://www.crispiusa.com/upland-pro?size=8&width=d&color=brown Let me know how they work out. I may may need a new pair of boots this fall. I've got hard to fit "old feet". Glad to see they come in a EE width.

    Constantly hungry

I agree with Quailbird. If she is maintaining a decent weight I wouldn't worry about it. Some are just that way, they want to eat 24/7.

Started Brittany Female - Turkey Creek Dusty II O'Dee Dream Catcher Rio

I see Rusty Little Pants in her background. One of Mark Donovan's dogs. Mark has had some exceptional Brittany's. A lot of NSTRA champions.

Where Have All the Birds Gone?

I agree, leave SD out of this. While SD may not have the numbers it has had in the past it's far from the critical situation you are implying.

Where Have All the Birds Gone?

I know the quail are way down in Arizona due to the extreme heat and dry conditions the past couple of years. That could also effect southern Utah. Where are you saying pheasant number are also down?

    20 ga Feather lightning

No, I don't think an once or an once and an 1/8 are the same coming out of a 12 or 20. You are trying to squeeze the same amount of shot through a much smaller tube which can effect your pattern. The usual 2 3/4" 20 gauge shell holds 1 oz. of shot versus a 12 which normally contains 1 1/4 oz...

    SxS Barrel Length

A lot depends on what you are hunting or if you intend to use it for clay birds. Hunting Ruff Grouse in heavy cover or quail the 26" would be my choice. Pheasants and clay birds the 28" might be the best choice. But basically it boils down to personal preference and what feels best

    Reloading question

If you are insistant on shooting the Beretta for turkeys just go buy some quality 2 3/4" shells in #6 shot like the Federal Pheasant Forever shells at 1,350 fps. Pattern them using a turkey head target and see what load/choke give you the best pattern. You don't shoot that many shells while...
