SW Iowa saw 2 separate broods 2 weeks ago of 4-6 birds. Larger than I expected, so must have been an early hatch. I expect it could be another 2-3 hatch year this year.

Another pronghorn guy here. I prefer the uninsulated boot myself, but comfort and support are top notch. As BuckEye mentioned, snoseal at the beginning/middle/end of season and they have been bullet proof.

Jarrod Fredricks...South Dakota fishing guide has farms that he allows DIY hunts on. Not sure if there's a minimum or not, but he's a top notch guy around the Estilline/Lake Poinsette area.

I did not get to hunt much at all this year due to a big project at work that consumed most of my time. Two weekends is all that I was able to sneak away, which sucked. For this season I plan on hunting much much more...and would like to venture out of state. I would be willing to trade a hunt...

Looked at all of them and settled on www.huntredi.com and absolutely love it. It gets better and better the more it is worn. I was skeptical of spending $300 on a vest, but it was money well spent.

I too have an ultralight and when it rains/snows the camo Franchi gets the nod. I've got a intensity auto loader with a 26" barrel that shoots awesome and is bomb proof in the elements...just not as pretty to look at.

Gaiters are awesome. You can't really go wrong with anything OR. Another option for those looking that are of equal quality are the Kenetrek gaiters. Amazon has them for basically 1/2 off right now, too.

50-60 intermediate is more than adequate. I've got the large for my 90# lab and its almost too big but the intermediate was too small. He fit fine in the intermediate when he was 65 lbs but quickly outgrew it. Had to sell for the large.

I have seen 3 hatches this year around where we hunt. Two weeks ago we saw a brood with chick's the size of a baseball. Should be a good year!

Was $3.20 here in Omaha a little over a week ago. Saw $4.09 this morning...but Costco is still 3.30 for now.
