Looks good why and where. I've lived here 14 years and pheasant hunting has been very disappointing. I live in Aberdeen for over 30 years and hunting is much better there.

I use some brass cleaner on the ends of the Buck 110 to shine them up occasionally and a little oil on the wood handle.

Sorry for your loss. Sounds a lot like what happened to my Brittany 9 years ago. She had just turned 8. Had a tumor on her spine. Still wanted to run but was in a lot of pain which was increasing daily. No choice but to put her down. Took me a long time to get over her passing.

Update on Bree. She is back to her normal self when it comes to jumping up on the couch, bed, etc. Not sure what her problem was for a few weeks but all it fine now.

I feel for you. Lost my last Brittany 9 years ago to cancer. Put her down 6 days after her 8th birthday. Took a long time to get over that one.

I haven't done a lot of Ruff Grouse hunting but if it was me I'd prefer to wait until later in the season when the leaves are off the trees and you have cooler temps. Also less chance of dealing with a lot of ticks.

Temperature difference between Aberdeen and Watertown is very little if any. Watertown is only about 40 miles further south than Aberdeen.

I try to keep my dog in good condition year round. Mainly get her out running in the fields for a half hour or more most every day of the week. I'm fortunate there are fields next to the walking/bike trail near my house. I try to maintain her weight within a couple of pounds throughout the year.

My friend in the Fergus area is not a hunter.
