    O/U with a Student Budget

I saw your post, yours. I'm just not in the position to buy it right now. If I didn't start my .450 AR build and pay way over price for my daughters NEF Jakes .22/410 I would have bought it.

    O/U with a Student Budget

I'm kinda in the same situation as the OP, except I built one gun last year and bought my daughter a pristine H&R Jakes 22/410. So wife says no more guns for a year. The only shotgun I don't own is a double, well or a triple, my hunting buddy has one. I'm a Browning guy, but I've heard great...

    Pudelpointer and Drahthaar comparisons please

I got a supposed PP/Lab from an adoption agency. I haven't DNA tested her, not sure if I will. She has huge paws, loves water Soo much she whines when we drive by. My problem is she hunts everything! When we're out she'll follow and point at what I'm assuming is mice, follow people tracks, head...

    go out with bang

Was out Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, about 10 hours total, didn't see a bird, saw more bird hunters than all season. Got rained on at my vehicle. It's insane, no ice for ice fishing, duck season is over, honestly haven't seen goose numbers like in the past, so people need something to do...

    Shed hunting

Is shed hunting in off season a good idea? My dog will chase deer and rabbits. She usually recalls fine except the other day. I saw Dogbone training and was wondering if it's real or a gimmick. Gut says gimmick. Just looking for a way to release her energy.

    End Of Bird Season

I think I'm done too. Sprained my ankle tonight and it's getting larger by the minute. State holiday hunt has been crazy busy due to no ice for ice fishing and just enough to keep boats out of the water. First bird dog and her first and only bird of the season a few weeks ago. I'll take it as I...

    Raw Food

Yes, she had an allergy panel done. Basically she is allergic to fruits, vegetables and grains. The raw I started is AAFCO compliant for a complete diet. I was surprised, because I know most dogs have allergy to a protein source.

    Horrible Day

They hit us and went in the trees on the other side of my Jeep, then then Dutch ran to the sound and I had to recall her, same place she chased a deer, then I yelled at the asshole as he was walking in the opposite direction. It was in my OP, probably didn't explain it correctly.

    Horrible Day

A couple years back. A buddy and I were hunting geese in a cut bean field that was public, anyway when we got done we met an old guy that was pheasant hunting. He was telling us how much he hated his dog and wanted to shoot her but his wife would kill him. At that moment she bolted into the...

    Dang, that's tough too.

    Horrible Day

Yeah, I could have been at work, but I played hooky. Could have delt without being rained on.

    Raw Food

I hope she's happy eating it! It just thawed out. So we'll see. 40 lbs is 92$, but I gotta thaw weigh and divide. A bit of a task, but she's allergic to almost all veggies and grains. Super strange, as far as I'm told most are protein allergies. Funny thing is, the raw dog food that's AAFCO or...

    Raw Food

So Dutch is basically allergic to everything... Except protein. Weird I know. So I went to a raw food store and picked up 10lbs of Titan Red. I'm worried because I was feeding Proplan 30/20 and she's doing well except itching and pulling out fur, but that's mostly stopped. But this has 12% crude...

    Horrible Day

Wisconsin releases extra birds for the holidays. Dutch and I showed up early today and she immediately ran twords the woods and chased a deer for at least 10 minutes. Wouldn't respond to tone, vibes or stim until I hit 9. After a couple hours we went back to the vehicle to get water because I...

    Dog’s first bird!

I agree, today I noticed none penetrated the breast plate. But I was going head shot. I am setting up for loading bismuth at home, so I'll probably load 4s for ducks, 5s for pheasant and get modified+ choke for pheasant. I'm attempting to load for 450 Bushmaster as well, winter projects after...

    Dog’s first bird!

I use a modified choke. I usually use #3 but I got a good deal on#2, I always buy Kent. It's my duck set up and I fold em. I'm not new to pheasant, just has never been my focus. Probably not used to how they fly, more sporting clays in the future I guess.

    Dog’s first bird!

Dutch got hers today! So proud! She's a pound dog that didn't know how to sit 6 months ago. I hit one before this and it sailed and it was gone. This one sailed too but I woahed her, then when I was close I sent her in and she ran it down. I should probably use something other than #2 duck load...

    Hello

Start em early. I do bring her tablet to the blind. Even though I'm not a fan. I set her in my block bags with a heater. She gets 5-10 minutes on the tablet then 15 hunting. As long as it fun and comfortable at first, it'll last a lifetime. She's been coming with me since she was 3, today she...

    Hello

I posted in another thread but here's Dutch, still looking for her first bird, times running out on the season, so God willing we'll get it done.

    Hello

Hello from Wisconsin. I've hunted everything for most of my life, or tagged along when I was too young. I started pheasant @10 years ago and for some reason I just recently in July I adopted my first bird dog. I am an avid waterfowl guy and just decided I'm getting too old to be chasing my...
