I'm nowhere near an expert? I know nothing. But I do know that a certain landowner we hunt on in SD has an owl living in her wooded area by her house along with about 200 pheasants....ALL THE TIME. If that owl was that much of a threat, why do those pheasants stay there? Before someone asks...

Once a rooster gets up and shots are fired....talking probably doesn't matter as much? But in my mind when hunting wild bird on public land, you really need to be as stealth as possible. It's def a pet peave of mine when guys are walking thru good cover sounding like a carnival barker.

To me, it's all about obedience or handling. I don't care if your dog can hunt? But you need to be able to control it and that starts when they first come home. That should happen before they ever go hunting

Yea, not always that easy. I drove 12 hours 2 years ago and spent the entire first day driving around finding all CREP mowed like a lawn. 2 days left to hunt. Yea, day 2 we found some land to hunt. But since all the CREP was mowed, all the hunters in the area were crammed onto the few places...

Agreed 100%. I have zero problem with another group coming in from the other end and working together. The guys I hunt with sometimes split up. Then we come back together and look where the others are walking and try and be somewhat of a blocker if you will for them. Works out really well.

My 7 year old Lab has trailed many many many times more than I can remember, a bird 100-200 yards through cover and get to an edge and flush it. She can absolutely trail a bird and you can see her out of her mind sniffing every piece of grass that bird touched while running. But knock one down...

I've hunted Kankakee sand a few times....I usually see a few birds but last year I didn't see anything. Long drive for me to see nothing.
