So I pulled the trigger on the pants. Only worn them once so far but it was a windy rainy day in sd walking cattails and they performed well. The fit is a little odd for me but that’s going do depend on body size/type in most any pants. Can’t say how they’ll hold up long term but initial...

    Action camera

Mostly just looking at alternatives because I’m cheap! Lol. I’ve never used one before and don’t know that I’ll use it much if I do get one. Just thought it would be good to provide some memories to look back on. The go pros I’ve seen seem to to start around 200 vs some off brands on Amazon for...

I’m thinking of getting something to video my dogs instead trying to use my phone. Does anyone have any recommendations other than go pro?

I’ve had a pair from outdoor edge for at least 10 years and they have held up well.

    Opening Weekend in Kansas

Used this recipe serval times and it works well. Dog was able to take his usual spot at the foot of the bed the same night. Doesn’t work nearly as well on collars and vests but I can leave them outside.

    Heading to Kansas

I had just bought a new truck a month before the opener that year. At one point while sitting still at the top of a hill trying to decide which way to go the truck started sliding sideways. Needless to say the wife was not happy when I got home with mud from top to bottom. I’m try to be smarter...

    Se sd lodging/camping

I’m planning on making a trip next week to sd with my pups. While I’m not tied to an area and will move locations if we can’t locate any birds I’m hoping to stay in the se part of the state, say south of 90 and east of the river. My question is does anyone have lodging recommendations, must...

    A little surgery schedled

So far mine isn’t nearly that big. Only maybe the size of half a golf ball and hopefully it stays that way. they may need to put a drain in to keep the fluid out. A particularly bad run in with a fence several years ago had the same issue after being stitched up and we had to go back to put a...

    A little surgery schedled

Remy, Now that some time has passed and I’m assuming your pup has recovered I have a question. Knowing what you do now would you make the decision to cut it out again or leave it? I ask because one of my dogs has something similar for the last couple years and my vet says to leave it. I of...

    Weather

There is no doubt that this can’t be good for the birds but as I drove out to check on my place outside of town this afternoon I saw multiple species of birds on the road. It dawned on me then that if meadowlarks and other birds of similar and smaller size are able to withstand these elements...

    Not my day.

Oh well. Memories made with your pup anyways. And at least you had your dreams! The anticipation is half the fun.

So did reality live up to your dreams?

    Not my day.

I had one of those earlier this year. Walked all day and blew the one chance I had. Hit him but not hard. never found him and the only place the dog was remotely birdy was at a hole. It was deeper than what my arm could reach so I gave up on it.

    Uncapped well, dog fatality

It’s a tragic accident and I can’t imagine being the owner. I was present when a buddies dog was ran over on a hunt 10ish years ago and it’s still turns my stomach when I think about it. That said all the talk of suing the owner and state over on Facebook is a large part of why we lose access as...
