Montefeltro or Ethos ?

Montefeltro has a lower rib, Ethos has a higher rib. That is the main difference.
Not true anymore. You can get a high or low rib on both guns. The Monte Ultra Light has a carbon high rib. The regular Ethos has a low rib. Just depends on the model and configuration. The Monte offers new technology.

I have an Ethos and a 828U which I shoot equally well, and I carry the Ethos for the light weight with extra firepower.
You can put a new carbon fiber high rib on the Ethos, and I like it that way.

So i went into a retail store thst sells a lot of fishing and hunting gear including guns and they couldn't tell me the difference. They only could read the manufacturers bulletpoints. He'll I have been doing that.

I went into Scheels and got a very knowledgeable young man who really knew his stuff. Seems the main difference is a 1 piece receiver on the Montefeltro and a 2 piece on the Ethos. The Ethos is easier to clean. The Ethos also has a improved auto rotating bolt to help eliminate the Bennelli click.

As of 2024, the Montefeltro has the same action, which supposedly has eliminated the click…

Ethos with carbon fiber stock or Montefeltro in walnut ?
You can't make a mistake with either one. Get one you like the looks of best and the one that shoulders best for you. Good luck with your choice and enjoy.

I have the New Monte and M2, like them both.

I had the Ethos and sold it because I did not like the 2 piece on the receiver-it was loose, it was 20ga. I sold it and bought the new Monte in 12 ga for the Chukar hills-a little more power. Prefer O/U, but climbing after Chukar it is good to have at least 3 shells and more knock down power. I know you can use smaller than 12ga, but after climbing and side hilling you want as much of an advantage as possible. I would go with the Monte over the Ethos, cheaper and just as good, not as fancy, but just as good at shooting. The loose 2 piece receiver really bothered me, I guess the 2 piece is for easier cleaning but I want prefer the 1 piece and everything tight. Monte 12 is light for all day hiking.

I have the new 12 gauge Monte and an older 20 gauge Monte. The 12 feels like a 20, nice and slim. The M2 is my favorite though. Comes with the shim kit so you can get that perfect fit.

I have a 20 year old Monte 20 and it was my go to gun forever. I never had a problem with it until about 5 years ago and then I had the click happen on several quail flushes. It is terrible when that happens on a bird, especially if you aren't seeing many birds. The new Monte and Ethos have the new and improved rotating bolt and supposedly fixed that problem. Have you ever had the "click" happen on the new Monte?

Mine is from 2007 so it's close to 20 years old now too. 12 gauge. It's never failed me once.

What is this "click" you speak of? The shotgun just fails to fire or what?
