What is the going rate to mount a pheasant where you live? Place here quoted my $275. Seems a little steep to me.

I have heard that a good method of plucking pheasants is to boil them. But my questions is how long do you boil them? Doesn't this cook the meat as well? Does anyone else know of any tricks to make it less messy?

I am thinking about getting a rooster mounted. Anyone have this doen? How much did it cost. I am thinking about getting it in the flying position.

When does your season open? Here on Long Island, NY our season starts Nov 1st and goes to Dec 31st.

I am new to the forum. Just curious if there is anyone from NY here, and where you hunt. There are a few areas here on Long Island, but they are hit pretty heavy.
