Hello from Long Island, NY

I am new to the forum.

Just curious if there is anyone from NY here, and where you hunt. There are a few areas here on Long Island, but they are hit pretty heavy.
 
I grew up pheasant and deer hunting in NJ, and also hunted deer in upstate NY. I don't believe I ever heard of hunting on the Island. What do you hunt on there? I left NJ in 1976, and have been living in the mountains of Colorado ever since. I wouldn't trade it for the world! We used to have some awesome pheasant hunting in west central NJ back in the early-mid seventies. I don't know what it is like now though.
 
There are some good deer here on LI, if you know where to go (I am still looking). I got into pheasant hunitng last year (got 2). The problem is most of the area are public lands, and are hit VERY hard. It is better if you know someone with property.
