    Pointing Labs

I think it is hard to find a bad breeder within the Pointing Lab world. The one's I have dealt with were all top-notch.

Born of TGK and trained at HRK. You can just ‘tell’ when a dog is from Rooster. They have a look. Rooster is a grandfather to my pup. https://www.huntinglabpedigree.com/pedigree.asp?id=47687

I want another pup with Rooster Smasher in the line no more than a generation or two deep.

Agreed and would also add it would be beneficial for the hunter to use the onX Hunt app.

Looking for a new hunting vehicle

My 2012 F150 had the 5.0L and I too ran 5W-30 vs the 5W-20. I didn't use hardly any oil. I really liked that truck, but someone decided it was a good idea to run a red light, run into a truck, thus pushed that truck into me, and my truck was totaled out.

Mine is hit and miss on true wild birds. Most won't sit long enough. I find most of the wild birds are either flushing right away or running. My boy is out of this pairing. My interaction with other handlers of 4X level dogs is about the same as you have described for wild birds. I've not hunted...

Looking for a new hunting vehicle

The truck I originally ordered had that engine, but I couldn't get it due to the strike, thus ended up with the 6.2L. I have been super lucky with it so far. I really like how it runs and hope I am just one of the guys that everyone did their job correctly when building this bad boy! I get about...

Looking for a new hunting vehicle

I own a 2023 Sierra 1500 with the 6.2L engine. It was one under recall. I took it in for testing and ended up with the oil change. I guess I have been one of the fortunate ones with no oil use/leaks or other issues. It does seem to be a little quieter at startup with the 0W-40 oil. I have a...

    Newbie to hunt tests.

I believe there are internal discussions within the APLA leadership to bump up the level of difficulty in the Triple Crown to provide higher levels of challenges to those classes of dogs.

    Newbie to hunt tests.

I have only run my Lab in American Pointing Labrador Association (APLA) or regular AKC hunt tests. It was interesting to sit back as an observer or handler to see the difference. I have never run HRC or Field Trials and I know they are really different as well. I have not run Master level dogs...

    Newbie to hunt tests.

It really is amazing to see how differently the hunt tests are run between agencies.

    How to manage this?

He did at first, but I followed their introduction and training and he took to them right away.

    How to manage this?

This… Mushers is the real deal. RexSpecs are a must for my boy as well.

    Winans Retreiver Kennel

I keep seeing more and more kennels are no longer removing dew claws. From what I am reading I am in agreement with the new line of thinking.
