Anyone have experience with any of the hunting preserves near GR? I want to take my aging dad and it would be helpful to know who if one is better than the other. I’ll be driving up from AR with the dog. We won’t need a guide or their dog.

My Lab is from a breeder in Marshalltown! It is a cool area, but I think you are better off with going more NW like you have talked about. it was about an 8hr drive for me to go get the pup. I too have been thinking about making a hunting trip up that way. I usually hunt NW Kansas and South Dakota.

I am very fortunate to have a Lab that is a crazed marker. I suggest starting slow and easy. Large white or black/white bumpers in short grass. Nice and short throws. Be very focused on the mark process and do only a few at a time. You might try incorporating a "mark" command...
