As a fellow 16ga guy, I’d have no issue shooting the Boss copper in #4, out of a Full choke, just past the 40yd mark. The density is not that much lower than bismuth. I’d feel comfortable with that load.
I have purchased two from BPS/Cabela's that I did really well on. The first was my 90%+ condition 1905 LC Smith that they had just sitting out on the old used rack on the floor. I walked off with it for $475! The second one was my London made SxS. I had been watching it for a couple years in the...
Whisky likes his Cuga. This is his fourth season with it. I like how it fits him and the protection it gives. It makes finding him in the tall grasses, etc. pretty easy with the bright orange.
Cheesy, it sounds like you and I have had the same experiences with buy guns from them. I think they don’t always know what they really have and may not price it accordingly.
I am feeling pretty good, overall. I am also shooting 3 really different guns. I am really happy with the new little 28ga SxS. I plan to hunt with it a bit more and get a better feel for it. The day I 'struggled' the most was with my favorite gun. My excuse it it was 25+mph winds and the birds...
I am on season 3 with my Crispi Idaho GTX II and love them! The only others I think I would try right now are the Crispi Upland Pro. I have a 20yr old pair of Filson Uplander that I wore and loved for years, but they are really heavy.
Are you feeding 2cups per meal or 2cups total per day? I feed 1 1/2 cups per meal twice a day. Whisky is about 72lbs and I'd like to get him even lower.
It's funny you mention those brands. I have an old Crescent 16ga SxS that I shot for years. My guess is it is a late 1890's gun. The stock head was not tight, it was not tight on face without a lit love tab here and there... As kid growing up though it was a great grouse gun in Michigan woods...
I think the 30/25 is a bit too hot for my Lab. I have trouble keeping weight off him and I think this formula should be a good choice. On hunt days I'll just feed him a little more.
I just got a bag of Inukshuk 26/16 for the boy. He had his first feeding of it this evening. I’ll mix it 50/50 with what’s left of his old food for a week.
