No Birds, but Had a Blast

We went and hunted the Hays area over Thanksgiving and the day after. Mainly a recon trip since we have never hunted that area. We saw a few birds, but didn't get any. Talked to a lot larger groups and they did not have much luck either, so I didn't feel so bad. Even though we came home empty handed, I had a blast. I got to spend quality time with my old man, saw my puppy work his butt off trying to find us some birds and the birds would have been an added bonus. Can't wait to go in December.

Exactly!! Glad you still consider it a good time. Trying a less-popular area may not be a bad idea. I've been hunting one of those less-popular areas and the birds are holding like they should and it has just been fun. I'm sure you'll come away with one next time:thumbsup:
