I'm waiting for "Goose's" input on this.....
I already know all your spots in south dakota. You just walk around Lewis and Clark lake shooting roosters and looking at dead snow geese.Bob I could show you some places not to hunt in Nebraska. Maybe even tell you about a few farmers that always say no. But im not willing to trade for sodak info.
I didn't punch in coordinates I just know.Always a few cocks hanging out here; every once in a while there's nice tails too. 44.87701, -97.10963
Same here. Expectations are high.I'm waiting for "Goose's" input on this.....![]()
Dude, you do NOT want to get into that conversation with A5. After years of dialogue, I've come to learn that a PLD (private land dummy) rooster somehow becomes intellectually possessed with countless more evasive maneuvers the second he steps into the right-of-way and is no longer a PLD, but a public land f@&/rooster. And the second that rooster walks back across the fenceline onto the private land oasis, he loses those skills necessary to be a true PLF and is once again a PLD.Is that public pheasants or private pheasants? Just want to be clear here on what subspecies of bird we are talking about. In other words, smart and evasive, or dumb and tame?
That is an excellent point. I totally agree with that time is very important. He could give most guys egzact coordinates & it wouldn't really matter, the time is just as important as the place. That's the thing most poeple don't know is the right time to hunt a parcel
It isn't all that easy to get permission, unless you want to pull out your wallet...Yeah that's him. I've tried pumping him for info a few times, but he holds his cards tight to his vest. Some people I tell ya. We might just skip Watertown and move the whole dog and pony show west to Montana. I know for a fact birds are thick out by Hilger.
Okay I'll tell you exactly where to go and what time and how to do it, and you will not shoot one single bird because you don't have the knowledge to shoot a bird there.People like that really tan my hide. I mean, these are *public* hunting areas and public birds, right? This is a public forum. All any of us want to do when we go to Dakota is get on those public birds. Note the recurring theme? What's the problem?
Doesn't seem like it should be this difficult or secretive. We don't want to have to use a protractor to down some roosters! We just need coordinates and, preferably, best times of day for the spot. Ideally, a strategy on working each spot and where the birds hang out on each spot would be great too. Info on whether the birds at a spot are easily spooked or hold tight would be good to know, but I can understand a guy holding back *some* info. We really just want to make shooting them as efficient and fast as possible. Driving around and slogging across miles on foot can be a real pain.
See, this is why I can't tell anyone my spots. I share a pin with Bob to help him on his trip. Next thing I know, look at all these A-holes trying to steal my spot out from under Bob and I! Can't even trust the "good" folks on this forum. SMHPeople like that really tan my hide. I mean, these are *public* hunting areas and public birds, right? This is a public forum. I removed the pin (after I went there yesterday and this morning and shot my limit).See, this is why I can't tell anyone my spots. I share a pin with Bob to help him on his trip.
