Kuiu vest

I also ordered a final rise, my youngest son will end up with the best I like least. I'm not unhappy with the kuiu at all but my biggest issue is a location to mount my Garmin 300. I use and really like the puke gear holster. At this point the kuiu feels like a backpack. Anxious to try out the final rise. Any thoughts on a mounting location on the kuiu does anyone else have a thought on the comparison of the two?

I'm curious how the KUIU carries weight? Is it off the shoulders or is it carried by the hips? How much water can it carry? I really like the frame that it has in. It seems like that would help keep it balanced. I have an old orvis pro that doesn't fit me great because I'm skinny but I like it a lot. I also just found some soft collapsible ultralight 2 L water bottles and I think I can carry now five and a half Liters of water which is a lot. I obviously like everybody else would love a final rise but I I really like the looks of the KUIU.

I don’t think you can carry that much water comfortably in any vest. Maybe 3 liters on the hips and the rest in a bladder on the shoulders.

That’s a bunch of water, 4L is my max in marsupial and happy when half of it is gone.

The bottle holder on the Orvis Pro strap vest I have are huge. You can dang hear fit 2 32 oz bottle in each bottle holder. When I carry a 32 oz in each I run out of water fast on a September chukar hunt. I want the ability to hunt all day if I want without running out of water. Either way I am curious in the Kuiu vest. I've stared at the Final Rise multiple times. I wonder which is better at carrying the weight on my hips as a skinny guy.

Hunted the Kuiu 3 days in SoDak. Really liked it. Easy bird load, water bottles, comfortable, took a tumble head over heels shells stayed in pockets. Storage for gloves toboggan cable cutters. Killed birds

Im using the Filson standard tin cloth vest.

I use to like the belt type game bags but switched to vest cause its easier and faster to take a leak(piss) and keep up with the dogs with the vest on :cool: 😁
 
After hunting both vests quite a bit, there on par with each other except storage goes to Kuiu. Warmer weather goes to Final Rise. Shell pockets are deeper on Final Rise. But I think I prefer the Kuiu’s

I would buy another wing works and not let the mice eat it, if they are still around. Mine is around 15 years old and looks like new except for the blood stains. I got one of the first ones. I hate to give money to the copy cats who say they came up with all the stuff wing works originally had. That is just me.
