This is a common joke with my circles. Here is a little backstory. I live in a town of 50,000 people surrounded by residential homes and commercial businesses. The exception: A coulee in the middle of it all that snakes its way through town and exits the city limits. Occasionally, we hear a rooster crow at times in the spring and summer and will even see one now and again. We sit on the top of the coulee but don't have direct access to it but have the next closest thing to it.
Today, my wife called me on my way home from work. She had gotten home and taken the dogs for a walk in the cul-de-sacs in our area. Our dogs are spoiled and we are fortunate that we are able to travel just about a mile around these cul-de-sacs and do so without having them on leash. Less than a block away, she sees two roosters "pecking at each other" right in the driveway of a condo at the end of the cul-de-sac. She scrambled to get her phone out. Before she could unlock her phone and pull up the camera Ellie decided to put a scare into the two roosters. They fly up but both decide to land ON the condo roof. I said "Did you get a picture/video? Please tell me you got a picture/video!!!! I have got to see this." Here is my wife ruins the ending. She says "I didn't, I couldn't get my phone out of my pocket quick enough and I couldn't unlock the screen with my gloves on". Some may say this never happened without those pictures but my wife and two Viszlas will remember this scene every time we walk by those condos. I have seen pheasants land in trees many a time but she is definitely one up on me when they decided land on shingles of a condo roof. I have seen Canadian Geese do this too but never and upland bird.
