Snowy owls, anyone?

Sounds like there may be somewhat of an influx of snowy owls in our state again this winter. Has anybody been lucky enough to see one lately? If so, where, exactly?? I'd love to see one!
Thanks!

I saw one near Reliance last week. Cool looking bird.

We seen one south of Presho on Nov 14th sitting on a fencepost in the ditch. He was very receptive to us taking photos and even some videos. Ill see if I can find some pics.

A5. Where did you see the report about more Snowy Owls this year? Id like to read it.

I can not help you on where to currently view them, but I do know I have not seen any in NE Montana where I live so far this fall. They were not around much last year either. Two years ago they were around in really good numbers, took pics of 5 of them in a 6 mile area one morning, no, they were not the same birds, lol. Usually is will see a handful a year, some years are better then others, have been as close as 10 yards before they take off, they are neat to see. ps, if anyone who post pics on here wants to pm me their email address, i could send a few pics from winter of 2015-16 of owls i took, some decent ones, then you could post on here if you would please.....

Saw one today NW of Iraquis or straight west of Bancroft.

A5, the Facebook video belonged to my friend from South Carolina who took it from the passenger side of my vehicle. When I posted it, I thought I could disconnect it from his Facebook but to no avail. The page wouldn't let me delete the thread completely so I edited the address so it no longer worked. Sorry. I'll try to get him to email it to me and I'll post it own my hosting site.

With that said, I did get a limit yesterday. :)

Incidentally, the pheasant and sharp tail hunting was outstanding!

Mostly older birds ? Much of that area was dry (exceptional drought) even by Montana standards - or did you find some spots that were fortunate enough to get some rain ?

At least snow cover congregates birds and eliminates fire danger.

You are doing things right if you are killing sharptails this time of year. Most of our sharptails come via pass shooting in December. They seem to like to fly horizon to horizon this time of year.

Well, just because you asked, I went out looking but all I came home with was a limit of roosters.
