Attached are two pics from the current 2009 Colorado season...
The first pic is from an opening-day hunt with just me and my dog Chance - a 1st CO limit for the both of us! I titled it "Hard Day's Work" because he was so pooped from the unbelievably, almost impassable type of cover we were hunting that he went to sleep while I took the pic! WOW, we must have put up 200 birds out of that one gnarly patch - there was a constant wave of pheasants getting up from one end to the other!!!...The only regret I have is I forgot my good camera & had to try and capture a decent set-up shot of a very memorable hunt with a cell phone camera!
The second pic is from a Dec 9th hunt with 2 of us + 3 dogs in sub-zero temps with fresh snow & drifting - my first time under these conditions & the best pheasant hunt of my life to date!!! We were in birds all day long & the cold and snow put an end to all the wild running & flushing for a change - it was a blast to watch the dogs have to root around under the snow & literally push the birds out with their noses! Both of us got our limit pretty easily! Note the ski goggles in the pic - they worked out pretty well at -10 degrees!!!
