Ofer2 what are you up to? This article doesn't even mention the words south Dakota. Then you go and post same topic in MN forum and direct mods not to move or delete this one?

This topic could be related to any state that produces corn or any state that has a taxpayer. I found the article to be very hard to read considering all the ads that were mashed in around it.

Chris I am not up to anything. Why do you ask? I legitimately posted it here as I am curious as to what farmers, livestock and poultry producers think of what the article says regarding prices and those affected by the plus and minus costs to their operations in SDak

I agree with you that the way the article is broken up from the link is poor, I couldn't follow it at first either.

In two words "It Sucks" . Without RFS in place Renewable Fuel Standards which basically replaced subsidies), there wouldn't be a market.
Farmers love, the artificially high bean prices.
If private capitalist wish to take a chance and produce fuel, out of food, I say, let it happen. But when government mandates keep it artificially alive, I say "It Sucks". Remember, It takes more BTU's to produce than you get in return. Simply put, it would be like you driving 20 miles past the nearest point to save a penny on a gallon of fuel. Burning your food has never made sense, no matter how you look at it.
