I remember when both of my boys shot their first rooster. One is mounted, the other was hit real good.

Some Ol boys with their grandkids at the cafe in Dodge, “Saw some good birds as far as recent memory can compare.” Take that as you will. Haven’t seen much evidence to disprove that around those parts. I’ll probably end up hunting in Finney county on opener

Took my 2 kids out today and yesterday. Didn’t bag a bird but had plenty of opportunity. Had a great time outdoors. Bird numbers are the same as usual. Where there is stable undisturbed cover, there are birds. Where there is 63 miles of milo stubble without a fence row, draw, hedge row, grass or a weed for that matter, no birds. We did see 30 birds in one patch of crp. I truly enjoy my time walking with my kids. Thankful for the great Kansas outdoors.
