Youth hunt/rattlesnake

My father in-law who owns Kansas Ringnecks (Ulysses) had 30 youth out to his hunting preserve Saturday. They split the kids into 3 groups of 10 and had a pheasant field/chukar field/and quail field. The kids had a blast and did a very good job with gun safety. One group ran into a rattlesnake, but luckily it was next to a farm kid from Western Kansas who didn't freak out and slowly backed away. After rounding up the dogs and clearing the area, the snake was shot by one of the guides. For those of you who hunt around Ulysses, the milo is cut and most of the corn is as well. Good luck to everyone this weekend.

Thanks for the report Sir! Glad the rattler didn't get one of the youngins or a dog!
