My lack of experience and knowledge makes it difficult to help you
in your quest for the best pheasant gun, load, dog, gauge, boots, and hunting location, but I can help you with a kick butt, over the top IPA. Please try Todd the Axeman IPA by Surly Brewing Company. It's the most expensive beer you'll likely purchase ($18 for 4 pints) but like a good woman, most likely worth it.

A fellow expert!! I'll look but probably hard to find here in the hinterlands. At least, most of the roads are open now.

Micro brews

I agree with Zeb as I'm not fond of IPA's either. If you want a dark stout try Bells Expedition Stout. 10.2% ABV. Also try Olde Third Coast Ale from Bells another 10.2% ABV. They only make these in the winter months and don't sell to all states. The Brewery is in Michigan Kalamazoo area. Both are around $18.00 a six pack.

Bell's

Bell's makes great stuff. I like a good stout and will try that one. Bells' Two Hearted Ale (the one with the trout on the label) is one of my all time favorite IPAs. They are an acquired taste, that's for sure. Did you know that per capita, south dakota residents drink a lot of beer and are right up there with the experts in the national ranking. As Johnny Carson used to say, "I did not know that". Another good reason to spend as much time there as possible. If my grandkids weren't here and my wife, ha, I'd be living in Aberdeen in a heartbeat.

Delivery

Watermen, My wife has a cousin in Rolla and we go right through there on our way to OK to visit my daughter and family. I will personally deliver a four pack of Todd the Axeman to your doorstep next time through.

Up until last year, I wasn't a fan of IPA's as well (standard pale ale was my #1), but then something changed where I started to enjoy IPA's more. However, I just started home brewing and have many plans (keyword) to brew many IPA's. We'll see how that goes though.
