Went close to home today. Weather was awful. Ice and light snow. Grouse were sitting in the pine trees. Dog flushed one that offered me a shot when it banked right through the trees.
Saw three total but as tight as they were sitting we probably walked by more that we walked under sitting on a tree branch.

Nice going UH67. And you've gotta love those labs. Is that a Citori Superlight in the background? Nice grouse gun. No GPS coordinates, but how far into the Front Range from Centennial? I'm in Aurora.

Tom,
Thanks. It has been a good year for grouse.
Black labs are the only breed of hunting dog I've ever owned. He is my fourth. The gun in the background is my Citori Upland Special. 24" barrels. It is a great gun overall. I carry that gun for everything. Have even killed a double on whitetail does, but that is another story.
You can almost see where I went from where I live. I go up there once or twice a season. Always manage to find grouse but don't always get a clean shot.
Matt
