xmas jetmore hunt

my wife and i hunted around coldwater over thanksgiving not much pressure, saw maybe a dozen birds. hunted 2 1/2 days. we`re thinking of hunting the jetmore area. anybody hunt there recently? really impressed with the WIHA program. Looking forward to any info.

Hodgeman county I believe is were Jetmore is located. That county has probably the most WIHA of any Kansas county. We have hunted it in years past and there was always good WIHA cover with grain fields next door. I would recommend the western part of the county as the northern area never seemed to have a lot of cover. The Jetmore Motel is now reopened after being completely rebuilt. I looked at their rooms last year while passing through. Prices seemed high but they are the only game in town. The rooms were very nice.

We never got into alot of roosters in Hodgeman but we did get a few. The fields lend themselves to larger groups and dogs.

Enjoy your hunt but watch out for deer. I centerpunched one last year on 156 at 65mph with my suburban.

I'm heading that way myself the day after Christmas. If you're still around and would like to add 1 more hunter and 1 more dog (GSP) for a day, let me know.
