Why would PF try this in Kansas first?? I hope the average folks from KS are more accepting of PF and them creating more habitat than many of them on this forum. Try Iowa, we will wear those plates proudly! We support PF and enjoy what PF members make possible for them to do here.
Maybe this was a joke.

I already got a pheasant license plate. I think MN was one of the first states to get them. Tennessee I know had a smallmouth bass one really early too.

Yes, Kansas has a few wildlife plates.

"Costs:
There is a one-time specialty plate application fee of $40 + an annual specialty plate fee of $50 which makes the total for the first year $90. Out of the annual $50 specialty plate fee, $35 goes to help fund conservation efforts and $15 goes towards your annual state park vehicle permit. "

Taking your shot at Kansas residents again. Maybe a post encouraging Kansans to purchase these plates would be better for PF instead of negativity. By the way, they have been available for a couple of years now so nothing new.

I might consider getting one next summer. I have been a member since 1995.

Cool idea hopefully it works out there. I would rather put money to a group like PF than what I do now as I have no idea if the extra I pay goes towards anything as I never hear anything on it.

Gotta start somewhere I guess, and yeah we caught the stab. But I've hunted Kansas 31+ years and that pheasant on that license plate would be the first PF ever put on my truck in the state of Kansas. I hope it changes but it's nothing but one night out at a banquet for folks right now.

It is this "one night at the banquet" that generates the bulk of the chapter's funds which fuels all activities that the chapter is able to do. The cost to just attend and eat (pay for the membership & meal) is usually $60-$75, any money you spend after that, is what the chapter gets to fund the programs and projects they do.
In the latest PF journal there is a write-up on a chapter in Minnesota that has done 50 land acquisitions over the 40 years it has been in existence. This chapter has to have an amazingly generous membership, it's primary focus is on acquisitions, I think it was 90 or 95% of their chapter's funds are allocated for acquisitions....that is what is important to them.
