Wildcat Football Schedule and Bird Hunting

Just looked at the KSU football schedule. It looks like Snyder wanted us to get some extra Bird Hunting in this year.

What a November
Opening Weekend: Cats at Horned Toads
2nd weekend: No game
3rd weekend: Cats at Mountaineers on Thursday night
4th weekend: Chicken Hawks in Manhattan

Can't believe no comments...

I saw it too and it is great! Dang, I can't wait for Saturday!!! I was also pleased to see that we have an away game and then no game for the two weekends of the youth deer season.

It's as if God wants us to have our cake and eat it too this year.

So often it seems like there is a home game on the bird opener. But it is nice to see so much hunter orange in the stands. It lets you know who is worth talking to when you are waiting in line at the concession stand...

I'm also looking forward to football season. The only game causing a conflict for me is th eone after Thanksgiving. We normally go somewhere to try to shoot something on that weekend, but I'm not missing that game.

As much as I love K-State football, I've never chosen a game over opening weekend. Just don't see that happening.

It all starts tomorrow. The first game, although often much too hot to be enjoyable, is one of the markers that fall is finally here.

Nice for the cats to get a "back in the old days" non conference win. They have a tough schedule this year. Hopefully this builds confidence that they will need going forward.

When I was a student at KSU I remember thinking it was not a solid performance by the cats unless we had more points than the other team had total yards. I know today was not that type of beat down, but it was much better than we have seen the past few seasons.

I wonder if we went to school in the same era. I was '95 to '00, and it was pretty awesome. KSU's defense was so aggressive, and the offense and special teams could seemingly score on any given play. They REALLY blew out some awful teams in the non-conference.

I was there Saturday, and will be there all season. Offense looks like they will be dangerous. Defense looks like it still needs some cohesiveness and speed. SFA quarterback looked pretty comfortable most of the time. Better teams will put up some points.

I was in school at K-State during the early 80's. Pre-Snyder days.

We just hoped we scored, and that the other team didn't score every drive. :(

My freshman year was Snyder's "rookie" year at KSU. I didn't buy tickets, even though they only cost about $20 for the season (might not remember that correctly). A friend who was a walk-on said that KSU would go to a bowl game before he left. We all wished him good luck, but laughed inside. Damned if he wasn't right. When that guy was a fifth year senior, they went to (and won) the Copper Bowl.

I was at Saturday's game too, and it was HOT on the east side. Since I'm driving back to Wichita, I appreciated the opportunity to leave at the beginning of the fourth quarter with the game in hand.

One of my favorite Snyder stories he tells from the first year is about the players telling him they had been so embarrassed after the games the year before he got there most of them didn't go to class on Monday. Then a guy piped up and said, some of us still won't go on Tuesday.

I was in school 00-05. There were some beat downs, quite a few to Mizzou.

I read or heard that story of Bill Snyder's first season. I also remember he said that nobody on the team would admit they were on the team. They would lie to their classmates and say they weren't football players... I bet that is not a problem anymore.

I'm in a golf tournament Saturday, so I'll be catching most of this weekend's game on the radio. I hope the Cats take care of business on Saturday like they should.

Hope the K-State kicker is not on scholarship Bet no one sat next to him in class !!!

He had a tough night. But the problem was we were not putting the ball in the end zone. We score 1 TD in the 4 time we were down by the goal and didn't score, and we win.

We gave that one away. Auburn is a good team, but that game was more than winnable. :(

I feel bad for Cantele. Kicking is a head game, and missing three could definitely screw your head up forever. I don't really know what happened on the 1st and 3rd misses. But I had a perfect view of the second kick. The snapper skidded the ball back to the holder it was terrible snap. A good kicker still has to make that, but it does make it much tougher.

football

I went to the university of boulder in the 60's and at that time c.u. played football, kinda forgot how since.

cheers

The team looks very undisciplined. Sloppy game on both sides. Disappointing to hear the coaching staff accuse Auburn of cheating. Very unlike coach Snyder.

I've yet to read where Snyder said auburn was cheating. He said they were getting our signals so he changed them up. Espn then made it into a big controversy.
