Which Vest

Trying to figure out a vest to purchase for the upcoming season. I already have a Browning PF jacket, now I'm looking for a vest to wear for warmer days. I like the following.

-LL Bean Technical Upland Vest Pack
-Filson Mesh Blaze Orange Game Bag
-Beretta Waxed Cotton Strap Vest
-Browning PF strap Vest

Anybody have any of these or any advice?

I have a Filson strap vest for warmer days and love it. It's tough. The shells do not fall out of the pockets when you bend over to pick up a bird. If you have a largish belt buckle on the belt holding up your pants, you can thread the tongue of the vest belt through the pants buckle and then buckle the vest buckle. Then when you get some birds in your bag your vest does not sag down in back and pull up in front.

I have the LL Bean and For the money it seemed like a good, light, comfortable vest. I did get spoiled a little and got a wingworks, and I'm anxious to get some blood on that, but the LL was ok. I hunt mostly alone and away from the vehicle for the day, so the Wingworks can pack some gear.

I had a nice Columbia vest until my dogs got it out of the garage and destroyed it. I bought a Filson strap vest and love it. I've had it for about five years now and it shows little wear. It has a blaze back and there really seems to be no way to clean it since it is wax cloth. Thats my only hang up with it.

My personal opinion, the Wingworks vest is the only way to go. Well worth the money, it's built to last. I've had mine for 3 years and it's probably the best upland gear purchase I've ever made.

Wings works best vest hands down. Im going on 2 years and you would still think its brand new. Water storage, shell storage and bird storage are all laid out perfect. I were mine all season because I don't like a jacket.

I also love my Wingworks for longer days away from the vehicle or whenever I need to carry more weight.

If it's just a short field or an hour away from the vehicle I just throw on a lighweight cheap vest as it's just so simple

If you're a walker and like it, go with WW. It's a buy once, cry once type of purchase that you will use the rest of your life

The llbean tech vest has really thick straps, so I didn't buy it. I like their sling vest /pack for grouse.

I have used a cabela's dog trainer vest for years.

Does the Wing Works vest have a spot for a water bladder?

Orvis! Your getting fancy! I own some fly fishing packs from them. They do make a nice product.

PS the cheap one was the gamehide LOL. For a standard old style down to earth vest, that quail vest is sweet. Like 30-40 bucks. Kept the blood off my hind end for a few years:D The story behind the Orvis is, I got it new for 50 bucks:cheers: A warehouse store here that buys out failed business inventory. I wouldn't pay that kind of doe they advertise on any vest  But now that I have it, I sure like it. When its gone and wore out, back to the quail one. I should snap up a few of them now while they still make them. Most of the run of the mill vests don't have those nice big zipper pockets for birds. And are so hot to wear.
